Church’s is a luxury English footwear manufacturer founded in May 1873 by Thomas Church and his three sons, Alfred, William & Thomas Jnr.
Church’s is based in Northampton, England, in a county which is infamous for the thriving leather and footwear industry since the Middle Ages.
It takes up to eight weeks to produce a pair of Church's shoes, each undergoing over 250 detailed manual operations before it leaves the factory.
Church’s history is acknowledged for both tradition and innovation. In 1881 Church's was the first shoemaker to introduce the concept of “left” and “right” shoes in its pairs.
It is also the first high-end footwear manufacturer to introduce the Goodyear Welted Flexible sole. This is a modern form of the Goodyear process, which results in a lighter and more adaptable style, particularly appreciated in warmer climates, like Australia.
This innovative construction allows for the sole to be easily detached from the bottom of the shoe in case of repair and resoled for an extended life span.
Parker & Co. is pleased to offer a full restoration service via Church's utilising the same artisans and materials as they do in the original manufacturing methods. With regular maintenance, polish and a pair of shoe trees, Church's footwear can endure a lifetime.
